Time to Buckle Down and Do It

Alright, now I know the holiday season is "the most wonderful time of the year," but it can also equally be the most upsetting time of the year. With all of the sparkle and color and festivity, the stress of finding gifts is somewhat hidden from sight. Around this time of year, the shoppers go on hunts for the best deals and gifts they can possibly afford, but time seems to go so fast in November, and before you know it, it is December 1st. This year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday are rumored to be the biggest yet, in store and online. I know etsy has sure been stepping it up with coupon codes for customers and faster, easier checkout. I myself have made my coupon codes already for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday rush. I'll even give you guys a first looksie. All next week you can get 15% off everything and anything in my shop. Just simply enter the code BLACK15 at checkout and get everything in your cart for 15% off the original prices!

Only a taste of what is coming this year for sales and promos will be shown on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so I think it might be time to buckle down and start your holiday shopping if you haven't already! Happy hunting!

Been a While

I seem to have let my blog slip through the cracks lately. I haven't posted for a while, so.....let's see if I can spice it back up! How about with some cooking? Just for lunch today I made some japanese food rice, my way. I have to be gluten free becuase of a gluten sensitivity, and I have a sensitive stomach, so I had to find something that tasted good, but would agree with me. I shop at Whole Foods now because of their gluten free selection, and I found this cool gluten free soy sauce. I eat rice on a daily basis, so I thought, if the chefs at those fancy japanese restaraunts can do it, why not me?

I fired up my frying pan, added some butter, and then my rice. I let it brown a little, and then I added some frozen corn I warmed up in the microwave, and about a teaspoon of soy sauce, just to lightly coat the rice and corn. I have to tell you, I am no chef, but I am considering it after this rice! :)

Then again, I've been eating nothing but bland for months!

Tuesday's Project

Hav you ever had one of those days when you just can't sit still?

Well, today was one of those days for me. I had so much energy I decided to try for the biggest project I could take on.....organizing my bead closet. I had inventory upon inventory to clean out and put in other places, and displays up the wazoo! So, I took everything out of the closet so I could go through it all in it's entirety. I sat on my couch organizing and decluttering, and consolidating things into bins all day. I finally finished my enormous project about 3 hours ago, and I feel so much better. It was something that needed to be done and something I wanted to do with all of my excess energy. It looks awesome for once, and I have 4 empty bins I can fill with more goodies! :)

Any big projects you accomplished lately?

More Revisions (part 2)

Alrighty, I have been doing some thinking and research, and I have come to the conclusion that shorter sales/promotions are more effective. I have changed my free gift of your choice for every $10.00 spent giveaway to end on October 22, 2010 instead of January 1, 2011.

Also, I will have a limit of items to give away, so you better get them while they last. Some are already gone! But there is no limit to how many you can receive, but you only get ONE per $10.00 spent. I will let you know when all of the free gifts have been given away.

Also, if you spend $35.00 or more you will get free shipping on your order, just write in the notes to seller section when checking out.

Don't you just love a bargain!?

Yesterday I needed a little shop therapy, and to get out of the house, so my mom and I teamed up and headed out to the local Christmas Tree Shop, and boy did we have a blast! I was looking for holiday gifts (yes, I'm already starting), and she was looking for house decorations as usual. Well, we spent a combined total of $84.00 and we got a ton of stuff! She got a large piece of canvassed art of great quality for only $17! I only got holiday gifts though. I got a couple of people done, and spent a grand total of $15.00! I could't believe the deals we got, and I still can't. So, next time you need some retail therapy, head on over to your nearest Christmas Tree Shop for some bargains!

More Revisions

Okay, nw I have made another change to the holiday promotion. The $10.00 WILL include shipping costs. So if you buy something for $8.00 and pay $2.00 for shipping, you get a free gift because the total is $10.00 for your order.

Free Gifts for the Holidays

Okay I have narrowed it down to a few items up for grabs with every $10.00 you spend.

The choices are:
  • a pair of earrings
  • a seed bead memory wire bangle bracelet
  • a bag of beads (for the jewelry makers)
  • a small piece of vintage jewelry
Also, the promotion has changed from a free gift with every order to a free gift with every $10.00 spent, not including shipping. The promotions are valid in both my etsy shop, http://www.antiquetochic.etsy.com/, and my artfire studio, http://www.antiquetochic.artfire.com/. If you have any questions send me a message on either etsy or artfire! Thank you! Enjoy, but this promotion only lasts until January 1, 2011!

Free Gift Ideas

Hi everyone, I am going to be celebrating the holidays a little early this year.

I would like to ask you, the buyer, what you think this year's free gifts should be. One of them will be going out in every order placed this year. I have a few ideas myself, but I'd really like to know what you guys think. Please post your ideas as comments, and I will let all of you know what the possible free gifts you could receive will be. The free gifts can be anything like a pair of earrings, a glass seed bead bracelet, a mix of beads (for the jewelry makers), a piece of vintage jewelry, etc. And to start everything early, I will be sending free gifts with every order placed today through January 1, 2011.

When you place your order, be sure to let me know which of he suggested free gifts you would like, but you only get one, so choose wisely!

Bracelet Craze!

As you can probably tell from the title of this post, I have been crazy for bracelets lately. I took out my onesies and twosies bin, and made a bunch of colorful mixed bracelets. So far, the total is up to 10 completed bracelets. They are a little out there, but they fit in my collection just fine! My onesies and twosies are now extremely depleted, but I have 10 more beautiful bracelets for sale, and the collection will build up again, I'm sure of it!

newbie

Hi everyone,

Yes, I am a newbie blogger, if you haven't already figured that out. I am from the Boston, Ma. area, and I have been making jewelry for the last 5 years. I make all of my pieces with vintage or unwanted beads I buy at yard sales, flea markets, and antique stores. I have so much inventory, my house is about to start puking earrings! Just recently I went on vacation to the Cape for a little relaxation. I was away from the bead table for about three days, and dying to get back to it! I told myself I wouldn't buy any beads while I was there, but I ended up buying a piece of leather at a leather shop for a bracelet.

The weather was great and I even saw a bunch of seals on a beach in the distance. Like in the picture, there were a ton of seals, but they were very far away, so you can't see them in great detail, but it was awesome! I was on the lookout for sharks!

$5 necklace sale in etsy shop!!!

I will be having a $5 necklace sale in my etsy shop (http://www.antiquetochic.etsy.com/) starting monday, sept. 13 and going until sunday, sept. 19. There will be around 40 necklaces for sale during the duration of the sale, and as all sales go, first come first served! Only sale necklaces will be priced at $5 since only certain necklaces are eligible for the sale. Some necklaces will come with a matching bracelet, some with matching earrings, and some with both, and still for only $5. I will be listing new necklaces daily, so if you don't find what you want at first, come on back later in the week and you might find something that catches your eyes then!
